MECCA's New Launches!

Got to have a little play last week with the new products that launched today! DYING over all of them! 

Nars Matte Skin Tint is absolutely beautiful! The coverage is in between their tinted moisturiser and Sheer Glow foundation, kind of a mousse texture and matte finish but not super matte like the ADLW foundation! It's got antioxidants formulated into it as well which help reduce the signs of ageing and limit the production of free radicals in the skin. I really love this product, it's not overly matte like the ADLW foundation from Nars can sometimes be. I'd honestly say it's more on the satin side. The new blush in 'impassioned' is beautiful, such a great matte blush! And the new dual intensity eyeshadows in 'kari' and 'tarvos' are my favourites! There is also an new eyeshadow duo 'Hammamet' which I NEED to get my hands on!

The Too Faced Bon Bon Chocolate Bar palette that I've waited so long to get my hands on! The quality is just the same as all Too Faced products, the shadows are buttery, pigmented and of course chocolate scented! I'm so obsessed with this palette and every. single. shade. Melted Chocolates and new lip creme's! The melted ones are the same as the original ones except they smell like chocolate and the new lip creme colours are super different to the more nude shades they have at the moment- my FAVE is unicorn tears! It's super different but it makes a great topper for other lipsticks but also amazing on its own! Also the new 'Mr. Right' brush. It is 'teddy bear hair' so completely cruelty free but still silky soft and you can use it for: blush, bronzer/contour and powder! 

Hourglass Strobing powders & sponge! These totally lived up to the hype in my opinion! These are the same formula as the middle shade (incandescent light) in the ambient powder palette! So if you love the middle shade and was a full size you can get it now cos the top left one is incandescent light! Super smooth powders that you can use wet, for a wet, more intense highlight, or dry, for a natural glow:) the sponge you can use wet or dry too, and on one side there is a felt part which is for blended the product out! 

And lastly new Stila products!! Aqua Glow foundation and concealer are really beautiful products with such a nice dewy finish! Medium-Full coverage, hydrating and really good for a more a mature skin! They have hyaluronic acid in them which means they really hydrate the skin. I wouldn't recommend this for an oily skin because it is really dewy! Electrolytes in the product also brighten the skin. I'd really only recommend this for someone with a dryer skin, cos it is really quite dewy and on me (who's on the oily side it just looked like a greasy mess) though the coverage and feel of the foundation was lovely! They also brought out a sponge that's the same as the one they have now just purple! And if you guys loved or missed out on the Stila Christmas lip sets with the Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks and couldn't get them, your prayers have been answered cos they are now permanent and full size!!

Recent Favourites + a few reviews!

LIPS

Everyone loves a perfect neutral, your-lips-but-better lipstick! I have been loving these two matte lippies recently! Stila 'Patina' liquid lipstick, super matte, super longwearing, amazing colour and they smell like cake :) And Nars Pure Matte Lipstick in 'Bangkok', also a super matte finish, with a slight satin sheen in the perfect natural colour!

EYES

Before earlier this month I had only ever tried Tarte's Amazonian foundation (which I LOVE) but I made an order on Sephora Australia and got a few products I've been wanting to try for ages! Tarte's Light, Camera, Lashes mascara is quickly working it's way into my favourite mascaras! Almost every non-waterproof mascara runs on my lower lash line, but this one hardly does (only a tiny bit that just looks smoky)! Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in 'Trooper'! I've wanted to try this for so long because everyone says that the tip is super precise because it's an actual brush tip, it's super black and also super longwearing!

HAIR

I have never really been a big hair product person, I just let my hair do it's own thing! But since starting at Mecca, and having training specific to Bumble and Bumble, I went on a rampage and bought like 10 products! Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Primer is such a great product! I used it on damp hair and concentrate it on my ends because they are a little bit dryer! Plus is smells like coconuts! :D Don't blow it hair styler is another product I've been loving. I use this also on damp hair. I don't blow dry my hair, but this product gives you the same sort of effect with no effort! 

FACE

My other new Tarte products! Blush in 'Exposed' a beautiful, natural, matte shade perfect for the 'no makeup makeup' days! And finally, their Maracuja Creaseless Concealer! Mine is in the shade 'light' and its the perfect colour for my skin! I use this under my eyes (I warm it up between my ring fingers before applying it so it applies smoother) and on any blemishes I want to cover because it's full coverage! Tarte is rapidly becoming a favourite brand for me!

Summer Must-Haves!

I love summer, and Australia really knows how to do one!

I basically live in a bikini for the entire summer so having the perfect pair(s) is #1 priority! My current favourites are Amore & Sorvete, Zulu & Zephyr and Zingiber (all West Australian designers)! I'm all about the cheeky, Brazilian cut bikini bottoms cos who doesn't love bums! I usually go for matching sets because I prefer to match rather than mix and match.

Our summer's are filled with 40°C days so sun protection is imperative! Mecca's To Save Face sunscreen is the most amazing, luxe product I've ever used. It's a lightweight formula that feels like nothing on the face! And it comes in SPF30+ and 50+! Hats are also a must! Getting burnt in your hairline isn't fun (I speak from many experiences) so protect your head! And finally, the perfect pair of sunnies. I got these ones for Christmas after lusting after them for several months. I haven't taken them off since I got them!

Lastly, for those days when you can't get to the beach to get that perfect salty beach hair that I LOVE, Bumble and Bumble's surf spray will give you the same look!

Also, not pictured, but a Turkish towel never goes astray!

Skincare Routine!

Morning:

I first cleanse my face with Kate Somerville's Gentle Daily Wash, pat dry my face with a towel, then gently pat Origins Ginzing eye cream around the eye area. This product reduces puffiness and helps you look more awake. Next, I massage Origins Make a Difference Plus+ Rejuvenating Moisturiser. Currently I'm looking into buying a more daytime friendly moisturiser, this one is good but it is a teeny bit too much for day time! I really like the Make a Difference Plus treatment for daytime so I might buy that again! Finally, I put on some of Mecca's Lip De Luscious treatment to my lips! And I'm done! I try and wait at least 30 minutes before applying makeup to my skin to give the skin products time to absorb and do their job!

 

Nighttime:

If I'm wearing makeup I take it off with Mecca's Clean Slate Makeup Remover, a micellar water, then in the shower I use any one of my three cleansers. I use either Kate Somerville gentle daily wash or Mario Badescu enzyme cleansing gel, I like to alternate between the two. I like to use Eve Lom's cleanser at least three times a week. This is a new product for me and I'm obsessed with it! It makes my skin feel so amazing and it does an great job at taking makeup off if I haven't already removed it, it's no wonder it's been voted the World's Best Cleanser almost 20 years in a row by Vogue magazine! After cleansing, I once again pat dry my face. If I had a serum, this is when I would apply it. Currently looking at buying Eve Lom's intense firming serum! Since I don't have a serum, I go straight into eye cream! At the moment, I don't have a nighttime eye cream, but I've been trying out a few! Perricone's Cold Plasma eye cream, this was a nice product, but I wouldn't buy it because the fishy smell wasn't particularly appealing to smell for a while after I've applied it to my eyes. Bobbi Brown's Hydrating eye cream, just finished up my sample of this and I really loved it! I need a hydrating eye cream because my under-eyes are quite dry and I noticed my concealer going on a lot smoother after using this for a week! Seriously considering purchasing a full size! After eye cream, it's moisturiser! I use the same moisturiser for nighttime as I do daytime (for the moment). I've really noticed a difference in my skin since using this moisturiser, it's so soft and smooth! And finally, I apply Mecca's Lip De Luscious Night Treatment to my lips so I wake up with soft, plump lips!

Haute Candles!

I'm obsessed with candles at the moment! Currently burning Byredo's Prune Glacee candle which smells heavenly sweet! I love the way candles can instantly create a certain mood within a room. I'm excited to expand my candle collection and I've added some that are high on my list to buy below!
